Job Description

Our client partners with the world’s most influential life science and medical device companies to research, design, develop, and commercialize new healthcare technologies and treatments to advance patient care. As the Cloud Architect, you will lead the technical aspects of software engineering across multiple projects, focusing on software architecture, testing, and ensuring high-quality project delivery in application software. You will design, build, and test cloud architecture to ensure large amounts of data can be transferred and stored efficiently. You will create roadmaps based on the cloud’s capacity, efficiency, and ecosystem security. You will create diagrams, domain models, and other types of software artifacts to decode a particular problem. You will maintain information accuracy and security while initiating bulk data transfers.

You will use prior knowledge and creativity to troubleshoot and solve technical issues as they arise. You will vet cloud providers and third-party services that provide high-quality storage options within budget. You will create data transfer and storage standard operating procedures and policy documentation while adhering to industry standards and best practices. You will keep up to date with developments on current cloud computing solutions and processes.

You will provide guidance to cross-functional teams on using and accessing data on the cloud, especially during major transfers, updates, or changes. You will serve as the cloud architect subject-matter expert for the organization.

Hard Skills

  • 5+ years of experience as a Cloud Architect (or similar role)
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field
  • Ability to design and implement cloud infrastructure, platforms, and applications
  • Deep understanding of cloud computing technologies, applications, and trends
  • Experience in computer scripting languages like Python, Ruby, and Elixir
  • Proficiency in networking: TCP/IP, IP addresses, HTTP, and deploying systems into Cloud environments
  • Ability to automate tasks by scripting
  • Knowledge of cloud infrastructure, software application, and design
  • Experience using Microsoft Azure, Amazon Web Services (AWS), Google Cloud, or other major cloud computing services
  • Strong cloud migration and data management skills with an emphasis on data privacy and security

Job Type

This is a Contract-to-Hire position with a duration of 6 Month(s).

Work Site

This is a hybrid position requiring some days on-site in Raleigh, North Carolina and some days remote.

Work Environment

Hybrid, 3 days in-office
