About the Role
We are seeking a talented and motivated Cloud Engineer to join our dynamic team. As a Cloud Engineer, you will be working on our customer’s needs and with the Sales and other teams, you develop and actualize cloud solutions that meet and support our customer’s needs and requirements on the cloud. Your demonstration of an interest in and strong understanding of technology is pivotal.
This role focuses on working with customers to provide tailored solutions, primarily within the Google Cloud ecosystem. You will collaborate with our customers and internal teams to design, develop, and implement cloud solutions that align with their needs and requirements. Additionally, you will take ownership of customer issues, offering support and ensuring swift resolution when they encounter challenges. Your goal is to deliver exceptional results, exceeding customer expectations by leveraging various cloud tools.
The role involves quickly testing solutions to identify what works, adapting successful approaches, and learning from any setbacks for future improvements. You will need to combine technical expertise with business insight to guide customers through all aspects of their cloud computing needs, from infrastructure design and maintenance to support and strategic planning.
A strong background in cloud-based technology is essential, along with a deep understanding of IaaS technologies, platforms, and applications. You should be adept at customizing these solutions to enhance our customers’ security and efficiency
Key Tasks
- Planning, designing and deploying cloud-based applications for customers.
- Responsible for developing and maintaining secure virtual environments.
- Managing cloud environments in accordance with different application security guidelines.
- Deploying and debugging cloud initiatives as needed in accordance with best practices throughout the development lifecycle.
- Educating teams on the implementation of new cloud-based initiatives, and providing associated training as required.
- Employing exceptional problem-solving skills, with the ability to see and solve issues before they snowball into problems
- Using your extensive knowledge of APIs to design RESTful services, and integrate them with existing data providers, using JSON or XML as needed
- Lead and develop best practices for the larger technical team.
- Building and designing web services in the cloud, along with implementing the set-up of geographically redundant services.
- Orchestrating and automating cloud-based platforms throughout the company.
- Stay current with industry trends, making recommendations as needed to help the company get better.
- Working on our customer’s needs and with the Sales and Solutions Engineer, you develop and actualize web solutions that meet and support our customers.
- Design and develop innovative solutions to customer requirements using our cloud solutions
- Training to user groups to support organizational adoption
- Undertake discovery and education activities to identify opportunities for Cloud solution usage across organizational functions and processes
- Function as a frontline technical resource for “best practice” and informal customer questions
- Customer support function to ensure speedy resolution of customer issues
- Product management as the customer advocate on product roadmap discussions
- Maintain current functional and technical knowledge of the cloud solutions we offer.
- Help to document best practices in developing and using the cloud solutions we offer
